MG 4 Ultra Thin One-Pack Battery Design

MG4 Electric adopts the all new “One-Pack” battery design. A new structure employing a horizontal cell design to achieve an industry-leading 110mm ultra-thin power battery this reduces battery volume and widens the cabin space in the vehicle.

The horizontal cell design combined with the “Cell-To-Pack” concept generates ultra-high levels of energy density. The novel zero thermal runaway technology and an innovative cell adaptive pressure control system both ensure excellent battery safety whilst greatly extending battery longevity.

Ultra-Thin

The horizontal cell design reduces the height of the pack whilst also reducing the number of heat shields required, providing higher utilization of the pack volume compared to the traditional vertical design. This results in a class leading, 110mm ultra-thin battery pack with excellent levels of energy density.

Completely Flat

Moving the battery control system from the top to the Side gives a completely flat battery with no protrusions. Along with the ultra-thin design this liberates yet more space in the cabin.

New Structure

Eliminating large modules by adopting a “Cell-To-Pack” arrangement, reduces the battery pack volume significantly.
